This past spring, Nicole Moccio ’25 and Grace Brogioli ’25 participated in the humanitarian action semester abroad in Greece with Global Fairfield’s partner, College Year Athens. They interned with humanitarian organizations and took classes toward their HA minor.
Nicole Moccio ’25, management major, humanitarian action minor:
“The Network for Children's Rights (NCR) provided me with an amazing opportunity to meet new people, connect with Greece, and work in a field I am passionate about. Working with NCR was one of the most amazing experiences, and I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to work with my mentor and the team there. The internship taught me many amazing lessons, helped me enhance my research skills, and also allowed me to gain a deeper understanding of what the humanitarian sector looks like in Greece and abroad. While with NCR, I worked on donor research and a company profile which helped me get my summer internship with Orr Group, a nonprofit consulting firm specializing in fundraising and donor relations, in NYC. I am forever grateful for this opportunity and the doors it has opened for me.
Grace Brogioli ’25, environmental studies major, humanitarian action minor:
“My internship with the Mediterranean Institute for Nature and Anthropos (MedINA) provided me information on subjects and initiatives that’s I didn’t even know existed. Due to my internship through humanitarian action, it allowed me to make new connections and further research topics that were brought to my eyes. Very grateful for the opportunity and everyone that has the opportunity to do an internship with HA through CYA should take advantage of it!
