Gwen Iles, a Nursing major from Fairfield University, class of 2026, pursued her degree in Townsville, Australia, at James Cook University. Gwen is one of the recipients of the Hulseman Scholarship, which has enriched her study abroad experience.

“It’s been nice getting into a routine with classes,” Gwen shared. “So far, classes are going well—the professors are very nice and approachable. Australia has taught me so much about the world around me, and even more about myself. Receiving the Hulseman award has helped tremendously with substantial airfare costs, and proven to me that anything is possible no matter who you are.”

The Hulseman Scholarship is available to students during the study abroad application process and can be used to cover costs such as airfare, food, and other expenses during your time abroad. Gwen's experience is a testament to how this scholarship can make studying in a new country a little easier and open doors to exciting, life-changing opportunities.
