Wintersession 2025
Early Renaissance Art in Florence: Join Dr. Philip Eliasoph during the January Intersession to explore Florence, Italy, and its Renaissance art while earning three credits. This program allows students to visit iconic landmarks, including fresco-painted churches and historical monuments, offering a unique insight into the birthplace of the Renaissance. Experience the rich cultural history of Florence as you climb the steps of the massive Duomo and marvel at the works of renowned artists like Michelangelo and Botticelli.
Spring Break Immersion 2025
Family Business in Italy: Over spring break, study Italian family businesses in Florence with Dr. Lisa Mainiero. This course includes online and in-person learning, offering insights into the dynamics of family-owned enterprises. Students will learn about the challenges and successes of family businesses in Italy, visit local companies, and engage in discussions with business owners. This program provides a unique opportunity to explore the cultural aspects of business management and gain a deeper understanding of how family businesses contribute to the Italian economy.

Tropical Marine Biology on Bimini Island: In May, study marine life in Bimini, Bahamas, with Dr. Shannon Gerry. Live at a research station and explore diverse ecosystems, gaining hands-on experience with marine biology fieldwork. Students will engage in activities such as snorkeling, data collection, and studying the unique habitats of Bimini's marine life. This immersive program is ideal for students interested in marine sciences and offers a chance to understand the complexities of tropical ecosystems firsthand.
Palliative Care Communication in the USA & Italy: Combine healthcare and communication studies with Dr. Michael Pagano and Dr. Eileen O'Shea. This Maymester course includes three weeks online and one week in Italy, where students will explore the cultural differences in healthcare communication. This interdisciplinary course focuses on the importance of communication in palliative care, helping students understand the challenges faced by healthcare providers, patients, and families. It provides valuable insights into how different healthcare systems operate and the critical role communication plays in patient care.
Fair Trade and Microfinance in Costa Rica: In August, learn about fair trade in Costa Rica with Dr. Alfred Babo and Dr. Helena Keefe.
