Bon Odori
Our international student, Lara Homma, presented at our March Monthly Coffee Hour Japan’s traditional folk dance, Bon Odori, that happens during the The Obon Festival. Obon is an annual event held mid-August in Japan. It is a festival that celebrates and remembers ancestors, guiding the spirits by lanterns and dance. The traditional dance, "Bon Odori," is performed by professional dancers. However, its simple moves welcome anyone who wants to join in.
